Business Development for Non-Profits

Goal:
Assist Not-For-Profit agencies seeking to develop a business that will provide training and revenue to their clients, a service to the community and funds for agency operation.
Background:
  • Twenty-five years in managing Not-For-Profit agencies with businesses. Eight years as owner/operator of Sitka Bike & Hike, a small tour company in Alaska.
  • Researched over thirty non-profits with business operations. Article published in Nonprofit World, June 1996.
  • Member, Social Enterprise Alliance.

 

Jeff Budd is a leader in developing and sustaining business enterprises for nonprofit organizations. He is also an experienced traveller and trekker.
Jeff lives in Sitka, Alaska — home to the most diverse economy in Southeast Alaska and a coastal landmark on the North Pacific.
Jeff has a Masters from the University of Oregon in Juvenile Corrections. His professional career has included stints as a traditional YMCA Youth Worker, a street/outreach worker, working at a runaway house, community schools, and substance abuse programs with education, prevention, and treatment components for all ages. He was an elected offical in Ketchikan on the City Council, as well as appointed to the Ketchikan School Board.
